There's a lot more to business than making money. Studies show that companies that value their employees above profits usually are the most successful. Over the course of nearly 20 years, I've experienced the good, the bad and the ugly of management. In some cases, I've been the employee who suffered under the boss from hell. In other cases, I've been that boss. I've been on the board or advisory boards of organizations that treated people well and those that didn't.
Through those experiences, I've learned many life lessons and developed my own praxis for employee management (link to the right) and continue to develop tips and techniques based on real-world experiences that I hope will help others. Currently, I'm the co-founder and VP of Business Development and Alliances with Scale Computing, a technology company we relocated from Silicon Valley to Indianapolis.
I hope you enjoy this section and get a chance to change the way you think about building companies, pursuing your dreams and managing employees. There is a better way forward; one that leads to profits and a rewarding life. |
